How do I book?

Patients who are booking screening examinations may call the clinic on 01732 897666 to book an appointment. There is no need for a doctor’s referral.

For privately insured patients or for self-paying patients, your doctor will write a request form for an ultrasound examination. You can either call the clinic on 01732 897666 to book an appointment or send the form by post and one of our staff will ring you to arrange a convenient appointment.

How do I get the results?

During the examination we often show and discuss the ultrasound images with you. Once the examination is finished we may be able to inform you of the results. However, sometimes, the images may need to be reviewed and measurements calculated and therefore it is not always possible to give you the results straight away. Once the images are analysed, a report will be issued to your referring doctor and we will send you a letter confirming our findings if you came for a screening examination.

You should make an appointment with your referring doctor to discuss the results in detail. Patients who attend for screening will receive a letter confirming the findings and advise them if they need to go to their GP for further treatment.

How much does it cost?

Ultrasound imaging is a very cost effective imaging modality compared to others such as CT or MRI scans. Different examinations attract different costs. Please call on 01732 897666 to enquire about the cost of your scan.

Do I need a doctor to refer me?

Symptomatic private patients and self-paying patients will need a referral from their doctor.

Screening patients or pregnancy scans do not need referrals and may book an examination directly with the clinic. If you are pregnant, we do request that you tell your GP or midwife that you are coming for a scan.
